Recognizes milestones achieved between months 6 to 12.

Recognizes top performers and accomplishes rigorous requirements for 4 consecutive quarters.

Drivers of the Month/Year can recognize their peers that have gone “above and beyond”.

The Driver of the Month program is a high honor for specially-selected Maverick OTR drivers. Throughout the year, 12 “Black Hats” are recognized from the company’s fleet who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their profession, while upholding Maverick’s high safety standards. At the end of the year, all Maverick employees vote from the twelve Drivers of the Month to select the Driver of the Year, which is announced Q1 of the following year. As Driver of the Month, each Black Hat also serves as a voice of fellow drivers on the Driver Advisory Council, which meets with our leadership team on a quarterly basis.

Similar to the OTR Driver of the Month program, the Dedicated Driver of the Month program is a high honor for specially-selected Maverick Dedicated drivers. At the end of the year, the Dedicated Driver of the Month committee will choose the Dedicated Driver of the Year, which is announced the following Q1.

Drivers that have driven through all 4 seasons of the year, perform at high levels, have no safety points or probation, and have good truck cleanliness track records are eligible to become a Road Trainer.

The 2 components that allow our Road Trainer program to thrive are 1) our unwavering emphasis on safety, and 2) allowing our trainers to use the best of what they do and who they are to do the job. Each trainer has a team of people and departments ready to support them, and we have several tools that allow us to review data for continuous improvement.

Road Trainer Finalists are recognized as top performers while actively training students over the previous 12 months and throughout their tenure at Maverick.

The Trainer of the Year program, along with the annual Road Trainer Summit, will improve Maverick’s ability to gain valuable insight and feedback. The Road Trainer Finalist committee chooses the Trainer of the Year, which is announced midyear as part of the Road Trainer Summit.
